Q: Why did you decide to nominate for the Mackay Marina Run?
A: To get involved with the community and my work colleagues.
Q: Will you be running on your own or part of a Corporate Team?
A: Corporate team.
Q: If part of a team which one?
A: Mackay Isuzu.
Q: What distance are you doing in the BMA Mackay Marina Run and is it your first time running in the event?
A: Yes this is my first time and we will be running 5km.
Q: Will you be training solo or as part of a group?
A: I will be training twice a week with Kerry Watkin and the LRC team.
Q: What would you say to anyone else contemplating running the MMR?
A: Have a go and you might surprise yourself.
Q: What do you hope to achieve from running the Mackay Marina Run?
A: Eg. Improved health, meeting people etc. I hope to achieve my health goals, to run 5km nonstop will be a huge achievement for me and I look forward to meeting people and being sociable.
Q: Any other comments?
A: When I signed up for the MMR my initial thought was that I would just show up on the day and give it a go but after meeting the organisers and people of LRC I now have a very new perspective on things and have re-evaluated my goal, which is to run 5km nonstop. I have 2 young children who I want to show that when you put your mind to something, and you work hard you can achieve anything so I will be running for them!! I have not been a big sporty or even a fit person nor have I been involved in many community events in the past this is something new for me and I am so excited to be a part of it?

Q: Why did you decide to nominate for the Mackay Marina Run?
A: I saw the email from Marketing & thought “I can do this.”
Q: Will you be running on your own or part of a Corporate Team?
A: I’ll be part of a Corporate team.
Q: If part of a team which one?
A: Mackay Isuzu.
Q: What distance are you doing in the BMA Mackay Marina Run and is it your first time running in the event?
A: This is my first run & I’ll be attempting the 5 km.
Q: Will you be training solo or as part of a group?
A: I’ll be training with Michelle Lowe twice a week with the LRC team.
Q: What would you say to anyone else contemplating running the MMR?
A: Join up to a running team for advise & encouragement & go for it…you have nothing to lose but a lot to gain.
Q: What do you hope to achieve from running the Mackay Marina Run?
A: Eg. Improved health, meeting people etc. I hope to achieve a better fitness level than what I have which is zilch & improve my health definitely, meeting a different group of people is a bonus & surprisingly I already know a few there.
Q: Any other comments?
A: I was in the right mind set at the right time to start this run & being in an older age bracket I knew I had to start slowly with the right guidance. I have a very active lively 5 yr old Grandson & I don’t want to be the “old” grandma, I want to be able to keep up with him & also show him that anything at any age is achievable. Michelle & I have been warmly welcomed by the LRC community & with their encouragement & motivation we’ll achieve the 5km run but also enjoy doing it at the same time. I’m very excited to be a part of this & look forward achieving my goal.
