Q: What do you like about running?
A: What is there not to like. I am a wife, mother and now a grandmother to a wonderful little man, as well as holding down a demanding full-time job. When I am out running it’s about me, “my time”.
Q: Would you recommend running and why?
A: Yes, I would recommend it. Trust me I am not the fastest by any means, and you don’t need to be. Runners come in all shapes, sizes and ages. For me it’s about having a go, giving it your best shot and you never know you may even surprise yourself.
Q: What distance did you do in the BMA Mackay Marina Run?
A: I ran in the 8km in which I did a PB, and I was also part of the 5km Corporate challenge.
Q: What distances have you done since then?
A: I ran the half marathon in the Gold Coast.
Q: What goals do you have for 2020?
A: To be able to continue training and running with my family and friends. Maybe even try a full marathon.
Q: Do you usually train solo or as part of a group?
A: Part of a group for me is the only way to go, I enjoy being part of a team. I would like to say a huge thank you to “On the Run” Martin, Jenny and all the wonderful people I have met through running. Certainly, without their support I would not have been able to succeed obtaining my goal for 2019 of running a half marathon. We are lucky to have several running organisations to assist us in running, such as LRC and Mackay Road Runners.
Q: Why would you recommend the Mackay Marina Run?
A: I have participated in the Mackay Marina Run for 6 years and it only gets better. The support from spectators and other runners makes it all worthwhile.
