Q: What do you like about running?
A:
Since I started running about 18 months ago, I have found a love for the sport. I have met so many awesome people through running and find it’s a great way to de-stress and clear the mind.

Q: Would you recommend running and why?
A:
Running is not for everyone. Yes, I would recommend running as for myself its allowed for significant weight loss and just a complete change in lifestyle.

Q: What distance did you do in the BMA Mackay Marina Run?
A:
I ran my first half marathon.

Q: What distances have you done since then?
A:
I ran the half marathon at the Beach to Gardens, 15k Mackay Mountain Marathon and 28.7km Greater Whitsunday Trail Run. Currently training for my first full marathon in Melbourne October 2019.

Q: What goals do you have for 2020?
A:
Definitely the BMA Mackay Marina Run 21.1k, Mackay Mountain Marathon 38k, 28.7 Greater Whitsunday Trail Run and maybe Gold Coast 21.1k.

Q: Do you usually train solo or as part of a group?
A:
I prefer to train as part of a group under the guidance of coaches Marty Lambert and Jenny Harmer at On The Run. I find that in a group environment I push myself harder, always chasing that faster runner.

Q: Why would you recommend the Mackay Marina Run?
A:
I would recommend the Mackay Marina Run not only because it’s in my hometown but the variety of distances to suit all abilities. The location being the Mackay Marina, time of year the event is held; yes, it can be a little chilly but usually a stunning Queensland winters day. The organisation of the event is first class in comparison to similar events.
